Meet Attorney Shaun Marks
Attorney Shaun Marks had received his Juris Doctor degree with Cum Laude honors from the Detroit College of Law in 1994. He received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Michigan-Flint. He has served in the U.S. Air force Security Police and as an Assistant city Attorney for the City of Flint. He has also worked in the office of former U.S. Senator Donald Riegle. Attorney Marks has successfully represented thousands of clients in criminal matters in state and federal courts across Michigan. Over the years, he has established a reputation as a skilled and effective criminal defense lawyer. Attorney Marks accepts criminal cases of all kinds including felonies and misdemeanors. Although his practice includes criminal matters of all types, Attorney Marks is widely known as an expert in the areas of criminal defense, drunk driving defense, and driver’s license restoration.

In August of 2011, attorney Shaun Marks graduated from the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (CDAM) Trial Practice College. In December of 2011, he was certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in standard field sobriety testing – a certification that very few attorneys in the state of Michigan have received. He received the same training as law enforcement personnel for DUI detection and alcohol enforcement.
On December 14, 2012, attorney Marks completing training certification: DataMaster/DMT Science of Breath Alcohol Testing, as presented by the inventor of the DataMaster/DMT breath testing device. His training for certification included the theory of operation, as well as how the alcohol in beer, wine and spirits produces ethanol and how ethanol in the human body goes through three stages: absorption, distribution, and elimination. He passed a written examination and was issued his operator certificate, which now enables him to question the reliability and admissibility of blood alcohol evidence obtained from the DataMaster DMT. This certification is just another tool that attorney Marks has added to his arsenal in DUI defense.
Due to his dedicated efforts defending clients throughout Michigan in the state and federal courts, he was selected as a member of the National College for DUI defense, illustrating how his successful case results have earned him respect in the legal community.
